& Perfect Ceremonies
Thank you so much for stopping by.
My name is Eric and I am the sole Entertainment Director for Hovey Entertainment. I believe this is a huge benefit to you because it allows you to connect with me on a personal level, communicate all of your ideas and thoughts ahead of time. I offer a very personalized service when it comes to wedding DJ entertainment. Everything I do is custom tailored to you, your family and guests so they can get the most out of your special day. This also helps me when it comes time to coordinating with your other wedding professionals as a team. You have the luxury of customizing the playlist with me as detailed as you want.
I love working with couples who are interested in collaborating closely with their DJ when it comes to entertainment planning, music selection, to crafting the perfect timeline making sure that everyone feels involved. I offer up front planning time that is one on one, which allows you to customize all aspects of what you need from me.
My emcee style is tailored, carefully rehearsed, energetic and an aspect that I get a lot of compliments on. I have some great grand entrance ideas too!
I am a hug fan of all music, which is why I love DJing. Personally I am into Reggae and Country, especially Red Dirt and Texas Country, complete opposites genres right? Although I do cater to all types of music and have an wide variety in my library.
My approach to working with couples is simple, let's meet and see if there is a connection, you will be happy you did it! And lets plan the Best Wedding Ever!
Q&A - Helping You Find The Right DJ Entertainment
Can we meet with you to make sure you are a good fit for our wedding?
Absolutely, I rarely book a wedding with out meeting the couple in person or at the very least on zoom. This allows you to interview me, ask a lot of questions to see if we are a good fit for your wedding. I will too be asking you a lot of questions, this helps me get an idea of what your vision is, your musical interests and to share with you my approach in preparing for every wedding that I DJ.
How would you describe your style?
This is a great question, because it will give you an idea on how your DJ will interact with your guests and other wedding professionals. While I am the owner of my company, I see myself as your Entertainment Director for your wedding. Everything I do is custom tailored around you, your family and guests. While I may be pretty laid back, I also know how to engage with your guests, create the musical vibe you want, and pack the dance floor.
How do you work with couples to create an agenda/timeline?
Regardless if you have hired a wedding planner or not, I will help guide and create an agenda that is entertainment driven with all of the important details. Each agenda is unique to you, your ideas, important announcements, special dances, who is offering a speech or toast to the grande finale!
What are some of your favorite music genre's & artists?
I love this question, but you know what? This is not about what I like, it's more about what you like, its also an opportunity for you to see what I am really in to when I listen to music and to see if there might be a gap in your interests.
I am a huge fan of all music, I personally listen to a lot of Country music, more specifically 90's Country, Texas Country and Red Dirt. I also listen to a lot of reggae, I once had a reggae radio show in College (Fort Lewis College). I also like a lot of the classic old school hits from the 80's, 90's and early 2000's.
Will you be willing to take requests and discuss music ahead of time?
Absolutely! I am more than happy to play any special "must-play" songs or requests. I have some couples that are really into music and like to be more involved in the playlist than others but I never require my clients to choose all of the music they want at their wedding. As your DJ it's my job to take on that responsibility for you and to make the planning process easy. If you simply give us a few songs you really like I can pick out other ones to fit. During the dancing at your wedding it's my job to observe what your guests enjoy and play the music that keeps them on the dance floor.
How will you interact with my guest as my Master of Ceremonies?
This is a topic I often discuss with all of my couples. My level of interaction will depend on a few factors. I see myself as representing you and your families when I am on the Microphone. I customize all of my announcements that add a lot of personalization. For example, when it is time for a toast or introduction of a special dance I will announce it in a way that lets your guests know who will be speaking, how you are related or know them and recognize that special person in your life by including their names.
How much time do you invest in preparing for a wedding?
It may surprise you, but on average I will invest close to 25 hours in planning, meetings, music and customized announcements prep to ensure the day of your wedding is a huge success. My goal, is for your guests to leave saying "That was the best wedding ever"
How much time do you need to set up?
I can set up 2 sound systems in under an hour, however I prefer to show up 2 hours early. This allows me to take my time, perform sound checks, make any adjustments to ensure everything is sounding perfect.
How far will you travel to DJ a Wedding?
Colorado has so many beautiful locations to celebrate a wedding. I work with a lot of couples who plan their weddings outside of the Denver metro area. I have DJ'd weddings all across Colorado from Aspen/Snowmass, Conifer, Evergreen, Bailey, Buena Vista, Larkspur, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Durango, Boulder, Loveland, Estes Park, Ft Collins, Steamboat, and Grand Junction,
Tell me about your sound system, will it blend in with my style and decorations?
This is really exciting to me, because I now have a customized DJ booth that is 100% beneficial to you. It features a 50" flat screen TV on the front that can display a slideshow, custom monogram with your names, wedding hashtag, or even link up to live pictures from a photo booth. I use the latest in professional sound equipment. Mac, Denon, Shure, JBL, QSC are just a few of the name brands. I also use professional wireless microphones for all announcements.
What are the next steps, do you provide a contract, what is the deposit?
Let's schedule some time to meet on the phone, zoom or in person. You can easily reserve the date with a $500 retainer and I will provide you with a contract that ensures you will get myself as your Entertainment Director and DJ.
